One of the most popular and famous white wines from Northern Portugal is Vinho Verde from the Minho region, situated in the far north of the country. The other dominant region of Northern Portugal is Douro. Home to some fabulous port wines.
White wines from Northern Portugal tend to be quite citrusy due to how close the Atlantic Ocean is. This makes the white wines refreshing by being near to coastal areas. Inland, however there are some beautiful table red wines as well.
